Fishery Details
Directions
(Situated approximately 8 miles south of
Lanark and denoted on the location plan by the arrow)
Travelling south-east from Lanark on the
Fishery
The fishery nestles on the north-western side of the
dramatic Tinto hills, set in open moorland where peace and tranquillity abound.
The fishery comprises two reservoir lochs (Lyoch and Cleugh) each approximately
5 acres in size containing both rainbow and wild brown trout.
Loch Lyoch
The lower lying Loch Lyoch
is a simple two minute walk from the fishery carpark with the dam wall,
shallows and reed beds providing a variety of fishing environments. Float tubing is permitted
with 4 members regularly ‘bobbing’ about on the water
(Currently
closed for maintenance)
Higher up the hill allows
the angler to take in the beauty of the surroundings on the 10-minute walk
to the banks. The dam wall along the north-western side allows easy casting
with the steeper embankments to the east and southern side challenging
casting techniques
